Hi Yang,

I'm sorry you had to wait but we had to polish off the website a bit
before making it public - we actually just put it online so you are
probably among the first to see it ;)

This is a classic problem with the libpng server - every time they make
a new libpng release they move the old release tarball and that, of
course, makes our download fail. I wish they would stop doing that! :(

Anyway, as you can see, when the source URL fails the tool automatically
tries to download via the alternative URL which in this case is our own
mirror. Unfortunately we forgot to update our mirror with that specific
version of libpng but this has been fixed now thanks to your bug report! :)

Also, I see that the latest libpng is now version 1.6.1 so we will
update to that version very soon.

In general, we try to keep our own mirror up to date with the tarballs
hosted on unstable servers, this applies in particular to libpng.

Yes - you are missing the termcap library which is typically bundled
with ncurses. On Ubuntu that is solved by installing the
'libncurses5-dev' package. For Open Suse it might be bundled in a
different package.

Actually, officially we only support Ubuntu. That being said, it might
work on open suse but it is difficult to tell what kind of problems you
will run into (but I'm sure you will run into some).

I will strongly suggest that you either install Ubuntu 12.10 on your
system or use Ubuntu installed in a VirtualBox image. If you like, you
can use the premade Ubuntu 12.10 image that we provide here:
